BALR-6

Gene basic information

SymbolBALR-6
Tissuebone marrow,
CancerB-lymphoblastic leukemia,

Description

During normal B cell development, lncRNA BALR-6 is dynamically expressed, with high expression in pre-B cells and subsequent down-regulation. BALR-6 knockdown inhibits proliferation of human B-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) cell lines. Constitutively expressed BALR-6 supports cell survival and proliferation. Moreover, BALR-6 can up-regulate SP1 and CREB1 level (1).
