Description

LncRNA BCAR4 is up-regulated in osteosarcoma tissues and correlated with large tumor size, advanced Enneking stage, lung metastasis and poor prognosis of osteosarcoma patients. Depletion of BCAR4 inhibits osteosarcoma cell proliferation and migration and inhibits GLI2-dependent gene transcription. BCAR4 transcript level is positively correlated with GLI2 target genes RPS3, IL6, MUC5AC, and TGF-β1 (1).
While in breast cancer, BCAR4 is also up-regulated. Moreover, BCAR4 can induce endocrine resistance but sensitise breast cancer to lapatinib (2, 3).
