Compared with the rs11752942AA genotype, AG and GG genotypes have a significantly reduced risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Biochemical analysis demonstrates that, when compared with the A allele, the rs11752942 G allele could markedly attenuate the level of uc003opf.1 both in vivo and in vitro by binding with micro-RNA-149, thereby affecting cell proliferation and tumor growth.
