Description

LncRNA CRNDE is higher in glioma. CRNDE overexpression facilitates cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, while inhibits glioma cells apoptosis (1, 2). CRNDE can bind to miR-384 (1) and miR-186 (2), and suppress their function. CRNDE knockdown results in a decrease of piwi-like RNA-mediated gene silencing 4 (PIWIL4) protein (1). Meanwhile, CRNDE decreases the expression levels of XIAP and PAK7 by binding to miR-186 and negatively regulating it (2).
Exon microarrays shows substantially elevated expression across exons E2, E4, In4, E5, In5 and part of E6 of CRNDE in colorectal cancer tissues (3). Transcript isoform-specific qPCR assays show that, apart from CRNDE-d, all of the CRNDE splice variants are significantly elevated in colorectal cancer tissues. Transcript abundance profile shows that the major transcripts in colorectal cancer tissues are CRNDE-a, -b, -d, -e, -f, -h, and -j (3).
Other studies show that the up-regulated level of CRNDE-h is significantly correlated with tumor size, regional lymph nodes metastasis, distant metastasis and patient’s prognosis (4).
