LncRNA HIF2PUT is significantly correlated with HIF-2α in colorectal cancer (CRC) tissues. Knockdown of HIF2PUT blocks the HIF-2α expression and inhibits the CSC properties in CRC cell lines. HIF2PUT small interfering RNA transfection results in decreased stemness genes expression, retarded migration, impaired ability of colony and spheroid formation ability, and invasion of the cells (1).
In osteosarcoma, HIF2PUT also functions as an inhibitor of osteosarcoma stem cells (2).
