Gene basic information

Cancerhead and neck squamous cell cancer,

LncRNA JPH1-7 levels in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is up-regulated, and associated not only with poor prognosis, methyltransferase KMT2D (MLL1) mutation and concurrent TP53 mutation and 3p deletion, but also significantly correlated to advanced tumor stage. Furthermore, higher median JPH1-7 expression is observed among HPV-negative patients and patients reporting history of smoking. Knockdown of JPH1-7 reduces the expression of EMT-promoting genes for N-cadherin and Snail, as well as anti-apoptotic gene XIAP (1).
