|name||long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 184|
LncRNA LINC00184 is highly expressed in human hepatic carcinoma (HCC) tumors and liver cancer stem cells (CSCs). In addition, LINC00184 is required for self-renewal of liver CSCs and tumor propagation in mice. Moreover, LINC00184 associates with β-catenin and the methyltransferase EZH2, thereby promoting β-catenin methylation. Methylation suppresses the ubiquitination of β-catenin and promotes its stability, thus leading to activation of Wnt-β-catenin signaling. Accordingly, the expression of LINC00184, EZH2 and Wnt-β-catenin targets are positively correlated with cancer severity and prognosis of people with HCC (1).
