Description

LncRNA LINP1 expression is highly expressed in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cell lines and distributes in both nuclear and cytoplasmic fractions of cells. Moreover, LINP1 expression is positively correlated with the RNA expression of EGFR and CDKN2A, and negatively correlated with RB1. Besides, the expression of LINP1 is significantly higher in those with TP53 mutations than with wild type (WT) TP53. In addition, LINP1 expression is activated by the EGF signaling pathway and repressed by the p53 signaling pathway. Further studies reveal that LINP1 associates with proteins in the NHEJ pathway and serves as a modular scaffold in the NHEJ pathway. LINP1 enhances double-strand DNA break (DSB) repair via the NHEJ pathway, thereby modulating radiation sensitivity (1).
