Description

LncRNA NALT is located near NOTCH1 within 100 bp away. Upregulation of NALT is associated with NOTCH1 in human pediatric T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T ALL) samples. Increased expression of NALT dramatically promotes cell proliferation in cell lines. Further xenograft tumor also indicates the growth inducing affection of NALT while could be partial reversed by gamma-secretase inhibitors (GSI). Besides, through sorting the side-population cells in T ALL cells treated with NALT shRNA could decrease the percentage of side population (SP) cell which companied by the down-regulation of NOTCH1. Furthermore, the nuclear located NALT could function as a transcription activator which causes an activation of NOTCH signal pathway (1).
