LncRNA SRA, locates on chromosome 5q31.3 and contains five exons and four introns. It is a non-coding transcript of protein coding gene SRA1. The study evaluates the association between two haplotype tagging SNPs (htSNPs) (rs10463297, rs801460) of the whole LncRNA SRA sequence and breast cancer risk. The results show that rs10463297 TC genotype significantly increases BC risk compared with CC genotype in both the codominant and recessive genetic models. Both TC, TC + CC genotypes of rs10463297 and GA, AA, GA+AA genotypes of rs801460 are significantly associated with estrogen receptor (ER) positivity status. rs10463297 TC, CC and TC + CC genotypes are associated with higher blood plasma SRA mRNA levels compared with the TT genotype (1).
